Made It to Chambersburg, PA

At 7:55 a.m., four vehicles carrying 16 people headed out of the First Church parking lot, and at 6:30 p.m., we made it to our halfway point on the journey to West Virginia: Chambersburg, PA.  In between there was a lunch break on a scenic site on the Hudson River near the Newburgh Bridge in New York, a stop at Roadside America Miniature Village to see an extraordinarily large model village built by a dedicated man in the mid 20th century, a stop at a giant paint can for a photo opp. and a brief detour to "tiny town."  At last we got to our destination, had a good dinner at the Cracker Barrell restaurant next door.

With each stop, we switched cars, so that everybody would have the chance to get to know one another.  There were questions in a binder to help us out with this and a great round shouting out our favorite movie lines and guessing who said them in what movie.  There was lots of laughter and fun.

Now we are all tired from our journey.  It's time for sleep, then on the road by 8 a.m. tomorrow.  We'll be thinking of you as you gather to worship tomorrow.  Keep us all in your prayers.  Here as some of our favorite photos from today.
